Comics As Catharsis
Violence can do a lot for a comic book. It can raise the stakes, grab the readers attention, display action etc. This book uses violence in much the same way, par for the end in which Old Man Logan turns your every day cut 'em up panels into one of the most cathartic experiences I've seen on the page. Reminiscent of films like Straw Dogs or Dogville, we find nearing the end of the piece to be charged with that relief whose source can be most notably found at the end of sharpened claw.
