Geoff Johns / Gary Frank
Comics Almost Good
I feel like this is an important topic to discuss when considering the comics as a whole. Sometimes, your ideas can be grounded, solid with strokes of brilliance, but for whatever reason, it just does not come together. At least, not in any kind of pleasing way. As a reader, this story does not work for me. It's too dark; too hyper realistic. It's also too gratuitous. Also, Alfred blasts the Penguin away with a shotgun. Batman is dark, yes. But there is a fine line between grit and gruesome nonsense. That being said the art can be quite good some times.
